Synopsis: Chancy is back from vacation, returning to being the greeter at the storied A to Z floored Zavier’s Department Store. When he arrives back in Chicago he learns that a new department store is opening down the road anchoring a new mall. His new boss Ester, CEO of Zavier’s has a promotion and an important assignment for him. He has now been promoted Department Store Detective, and his first mission is to find out who wants to assassinate Ester.
The Argument: Within the season’s theme, the festival highlights how legends are born—not only from the past, but from the artists who shape our future. Every great play, every timeless character, once had a first performance. By championing new work, we honor the legacy of theatre itself: a living, evolving art form where today’s creations become tomorrow’s unforgettable stories.
