Synopsis: This is a staged reading of the poetry adaptation of 'Frankenstein' entitled How to Make a Monster by Linda Ravenswood, directed by Brian Sonia Wallace. A performance and sound installation. The work reckons with the monstrous in midsts: the monster of relationships, the monster of industry, the monster of time. How to Make a Monster is a curated tableaux in 12 scenes based on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, The IPCC Climate Change Synthesis Report, Agnes Varda’s DAGUERREOTYPES, Meredith Monk’s Book of Days, and The Tanztheater Wuppertal’s Cafe Muller. Originally workshopped from 2014-2015 with the support of The Schkapf Arts Incubation Centre (Bryan Brown and Olya Petrakova) and Liminal L.A. (Brian Sonia Wallace, founder).
