Arsenic and Old Lace
Arsenic and Old Lace
Synopsis: In Brooklyn, two "sweet old ladies," Martha and Abby Brewster, have a bad habit: murdering lonely old men as an act of "charity."When their nephew, Mortimer, a prominent New York reporter becomes engaged, he comes to visit. Mortimer aways knew his family somewhere had a bad gene. His brother believes himself to be Teddy Roosevelt and his great-grandfather used to scalp Indians for pleasure. Mortimer's world is turned upside down when he realizes that his dear aunts have been poisoning lonely old men for years! When Mortimer’s maniacal brother, Jonathan, appears, seeking shelter from the police, comedic chaos ensues, as Mortimer struggles to save his engagement and conceal his family's evil deeds.
The Argument: How far will you go to protect your family? The choice between love, truth and family loyalty are hilariously played out in this classic comedy.
